§1 Electric unicycles
Why choose an electric unicycle?
It is the most compact powered vehicle you can ride. It stands beside a desk, fits a car trunk and rolls next to you on its trolley handle through a station or a shop. Your hands stay free and you steer with your body, which feels closer to skiing than to driving. A mid-size wheel covers a daily commute and longer weekend rides on one charge.
How often should I charge the battery?
Lithium batteries do best with regular partial charges. Charge after a day of riding instead of leaving the battery near empty. If your charger or app lets you stop at about 80–90 %, use that for everyday riding, because it reduces wear. Charge to 100 % before a long ride, and now and then so the cells stay balanced. Never leave a wheel almost empty for days.
What does a kilometer cost?
Very little. A full charge of a 1500 Wh wheel uses roughly 1.5–1.7 kWh from the socket, so at a typical household tariff it costs well under a euro and covers several dozen kilometers. The bigger running costs are tires, occasional spare parts and protective gear. Even with those included, an electric unicycle is one of the cheapest powered ways to get around.
How should I store the wheel?
Keep it indoors, dry and at room temperature, away from radiators and direct sun. For a break of a few weeks or longer, leave the battery at about 40–60 % and check it every month, topping it up if the charge has dropped. Switch the wheel off completely, and check the tire pressure before your next ride.
Can I ride off asphalt?
Yes, within reason. Packed gravel, forest paths and grass suit larger wheels with knobby tires and suspension. Lower the tire pressure slightly for grip, keep your knees bent and your stance loose, and slow down on loose surfaces, where the tire can slide. Small street wheels with smooth tires manage short gravel stretches, but deep sand and mud are hard on any wheel.
How should I handle hills and curbs?
Uphill, lean in early and hold a steady speed instead of accelerating hard halfway up. Downhill, lean back gently and brake gradually. On a full battery the wheel has little room to store braking energy, so long descents can trigger alarms or tilt-back. Take curbs at walking pace and straight on, with bent knees. For a high curb, step off and roll the wheel up.
What tire pressure should I use?
Start with the range printed on the tire sidewall or in the manual, then adjust for your weight and riding style. Higher pressure feels lighter and more precise and adds range. Lower pressure adds grip and comfort, but steering feels heavier and range drops. Tires lose air steadily, so check them with a gauge every week or two instead of pressing with your thumb.
What is a cut-out?
A cut-out happens when the wheel suddenly stops balancing, usually because the rider asked for more power than the motor and battery could give: hard acceleration at high speed, a steep climb or a nearly empty battery. Wheels warn you first with beeps and with tilt-back, where the pedals tip up to slow you down. Treat those warnings as a firm limit and ease off at once.
What range can I expect?
Expect noticeably less than the advertised maximum, which is measured in ideal conditions. Speed matters most, because fast riding uses far more energy than cruising. Rider weight, hills, wind, low tire pressure and cold reduce range further. A good habit is to plan trips on about two thirds of the rated figure and keep a reserve, since available power drops as the battery empties.
When should I wear protective gear?
Always: we do not recommend riding an electric unicycle without protective gear. To start, roller-skate protection is enough: wrist guards, elbow pads and knee pads, with a helmet. While you learn at low speed, a bicycle helmet can do. Once you ride faster than about 25 km/h, switch to motorcycle gear (an armoured jacket, motorcycle gloves, knee and shin armour, ankle-high boots) and wear only a full-face helmet. Bright clothing and lights help after dark. Rules for riding on public roads differ by country, so check what applies where you live. More in our safety guide.
Can I ride in the rain?
Yes, with care. Most wheels ride fine in the rain, but IP ratings are the manufacturers' own figures and no wheel is guaranteed waterproof. Keep out of big puddles and deep standing water: water reaching the motor and connectors is the main risk. Ride gently: braking distances get longer, and painted lines and metal covers turn slippery. Afterwards, wipe the wheel down and let it dry standing upright, not lying on its side, so water can't run inside, and make sure it's dry before charging. Never clean it with a pressure washer or hose.
Can I ride in winter?
Yes, with some care. A cold battery gives less power and less range, so ride more gently and plan shorter trips. Store the wheel indoors and let it warm up to room temperature before you charge it. Ice is the real hazard, because a single tire has very little grip on it. Road salt causes corrosion, so wipe the wheel down after salty rides.
§2 Warranty, returns and trade-in
What is the return policy?
If you buy as a consumer and the statutory right of withdrawal applies to you, you can withdraw from your purchase within 14 days after you receive the goods. Email [email protected] with your order reference and a clear statement that you are withdrawing, then send the goods back within 14 days after that notice. Wait for our return address and the safe battery-transport instructions before you ship.
You pay the direct cost of returning the goods unless they are defective or incorrect; for bulky goods such as electric unicycles this cost is estimated at 70–250 EUR, depending on the country and the weight of the wheel, and you may use any suitable carrier. Handle the goods only as needed to check their nature, characteristics and functioning; we may deduct a proven loss in value caused by handling beyond that.
We refund the price and the standard outbound delivery within 14 days after the returned goods arrive at our warehouse and have been checked. Full details: Delivery and returns.
What warranty applies?
Every new electric unicycle bought from OneRide comes with a 2-year warranty, including the battery. It is given by the seller of your order (see section 1 of our Terms and conditions). What is covered, the exclusions and how to make a claim are in our Terms and conditions. Where applicable, you also have the legal guarantee of conformity under the law of your country.
How do I make a warranty claim?
Open a warranty request with our warranty form or email [email protected] with your order reference, a short description of the problem and, if possible, a video that shows the serial number and the fault.
We check the case with our service centre and, if needed, with the manufacturer, and agree with you the best way to fix it: a repair at our repair centre, or spare parts with our guidance if you prefer to do a simple repair yourself. Please send the item only after your request has been approved. Shipping costs and the other details are described in our Terms and conditions.
If you buy as a consumer, this procedure does not affect your statutory rights under the legal guarantee of conformity: you can choose repair or replacement; if your choice is impossible or disproportionate, we will explain why and offer the other remedy or, where the law allows, a price reduction or a refund. Repair or replacement under the legal guarantee is free of charge for you, including the necessary transport.
Do maintenance and accessories affect warranty?
Regular maintenance and fitting accessories do not automatically remove your statutory rights. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions and ask us before a repair or modification if you are unsure about its effect on warranty.
What can affect warranty coverage?
Damage from misuse, impacts, water or unsuitable repairs may fall outside commercial warranty coverage. Each case must be assessed; this does not limit your statutory conformity rights. See the full terms.
Do you offer repairs outside warranty?
Email [email protected] with the fault description and your order reference if you bought from us. We will explain what we can offer before work is agreed.
Do you offer trade-in?
Email [email protected] with the model, age, condition and photos. We will explain what we can offer before any purchase is agreed.

When the number is confirmed in the EU VIES system, the order is invoiced with 0 % VAT. Companies registered in Latvia pay Latvian VAT. Contact us before ordering if the VAT shown looks wrong.
§4 Shipping
Where are orders dispatched from?
Orders ship from our warehouses in the EU, depending on where the item is in stock.
How long does delivery take?
In-stock items are usually dispatched on the next working day after payment (Monday to Friday). Delivery within the EU usually takes 4–8 working days after dispatch, and can take longer around holidays. For a preorder, ask us for the expected date before ordering.
Do you deliver outside the EU?
Yes. At checkout we offer delivery to Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Norway and Ukraine. We also deliver to the Canary Islands, which are outside the EU VAT area. For these destinations the minimum order is EUR 400 of goods (after discounts, without shipping and taxes), and you pay no EU VAT. Import taxes (in the Canary Islands, IGIC), duties and carrier fees are paid by the recipient on arrival. We do not deliver to Ceuta or Melilla. For any other country, contact us before ordering.
Do you deliver to islands?
Yes. The Balearic Islands are served at the Spanish rates. The Canary Islands have their own rate at checkout (minimum order EUR 400, no EU VAT), and so does Cyprus. We do not deliver to Ceuta or Melilla. For Malta or any island not offered at checkout, contact us before ordering.
When is standard delivery free?
Free standard delivery from €200 to mainland EU destinations. For islands and express delivery, check the options and charges at checkout or contact us before ordering.
§5 Taxes and your account
How are VAT and import charges applied?
Check the VAT shown for your delivery address and customer status before ordering. Outside the EU VAT area, customs duties, import taxes and carrier fees may apply. Ask the destination customs authority about local charges and exemptions.
