Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the Lynx S and the regular Lynx?
The Lynx S is the upgraded high-power variant. Motor rises to 3800 W rated with 10000 W peak (versus 3200 W / 8000 W on the standard Lynx). Controller jumps to 150 V handling 840 A max current. Same 90 mm hydraulic suspension architecture but tuned for the heavier performance envelope.
What is the battery capacity and cells?
2700 Wh pack using Samsung INR21700-50S cells. The 50S designation is critical at this power level; standard cells would sag under the 840 A current the controller can push. Samsung 50S cells sustain around 25 A continuous per cell, which is what makes the 10000 W peak realistic.
How much weight can the Lynx S carry?
150 kg max rider weight. That is 30 kg higher than the standard Lynx (120 kg) and is a real engineering difference, not just a paper spec. The frame and motor are sized for heavier loads without compromising acceleration or hill-climb torque.
Does the Lynx S charge fast?
Yes, 2 hours with the 10 A fast charger, 4 hours with the 5 A standard charger. The 2700 Wh pack at 2-hour turnaround is one of the better recharge rates for a high-performance wheel, making it workable for long ride days with mid-ride stops.
What kind of suspension does it have?
90 mm closed hydraulic suspension with independent rebound and compression damping. You tune rebound and compression separately, like a high-end mountain bike fork. This is the same geometry as the Lynx but recalibrated for the higher power level.
How heavy is the Lynx S?
42.5 kg net. That is 2.5 kg heavier than the standard Lynx, directly attributable to the upgraded motor and controller hardware. Still in the same transport envelope: not a wheel you carry daily up stairs, but manageable for loading into a car.
Is the Lynx S street-legal?
No. Spain: DGT does not homologate EUCs as VMP. UK: PLEV classification, illegal on public roads and pavements. The Lynx S is a private land and off-road performance wheel in both jurisdictions.
Is it beginner-appropriate?
No, this is intermediate-to-advanced. 10000 W peak motor and a wheel tuned to move 150 kg of rider plus gear at high speed demands experience. Jumping to a Lynx S from zero is not realistic. Build on a V11Y, Sherman, or standard Lynx first.
