In recent years, electric scooters have become a symbol of modern cities. In many cities of the world, including Riga, their number is increasing and their popularity is gaining new momentum. Citizens no longer use electric scooters just for fun, but also to get from point A to point B faster. By moving with this electric vehicle, your everyday problems with parking and traffic jams will be a thing of the past. If the maximum speed of the scooter does not exceed 25 km/h, it can be ridden from the age of 10, and the driver must also have a bicycle license. The rules of the electric scooter require the use of a helmet, and it is advisable to wear a reflective vest in the dark time of the day. It must be in good technical condition, incl. equipped with brakes. During the journey, a white light must be on at the front, and a red light at the back.

Load

Electric scooters for adults are available on the market with a maximum permissible weight of 50 to 150 kg. The carrying capacity of the scooter depends on the selected frame material and quality.

Driving speed

The speed of children's electric scooter is on average from 6 - 15 km/h (above 6 km/h from the age of 10), but adult models can develop up to 80 km/h! The average maximum speed for most scooters is 25 km/h (you can ride on the pavement without endangering other road users).

Power

The motor works by receiving energy from the battery, which must be charged at the mains. Higher power will allow you to pick up speed faster, as well as easier to climb steep slopes.

• 120 W – weak;

• 250 W – good;

• 300 W – very good;

• 1000 W and more – extra high power.

Battery

The electrical capacity of the battery (Ah) determines how long the respective scooter can be driven - the larger it is, the longer it can be used without recharging.

However, there are a few more factors that determine the discharge time:

• rider weight;

• driving style;

• the surface being driven on;

• scooter software settings;

• air pressure in scooter tires, etc.

The operating time can be from 30 minutes to several hours.

Charging time

It depends on the charger model and the battery capacity (Ah) mentioned above. Cheaper models can take 5-8 hours to charge, but the most popular and best electric scooters will be ready for use even after 1-2 hours. It is desirable to avoid discharge below 10 % to prolong the battery life and should be charged at least 40 % before longer charging. Store the scooter in dry rooms with optimal temperature.

Size and weight

It is important that the parameters of the scooter can be adjusted by adapting to the rider's needs and height. For greater mobility, it is desirable that it can be folded and conveniently transferred. Therefore, the weight of the scooter is also an important factor, which varies from a few kilograms up to 40 kg.
