Protective covers

Overview

EUC protective covers fall into two real use cases. Full-body covers for shipping, storage, or transport in a car trunk. And motor-side neoprene or fabric skins that stay on the wheel during riding to cut down on mud spray, water intrusion at speed, and shell scratch when the wheel inevitably tips in parking. Both serve a purpose and neither is particularly expensive relative to the wheel itself.

Full covers are useful mainly when the wheel moves around a lot. Riders who ship wheels between events, store multiple wheels in tight spaces, or transport by car on a regular basis see daily benefit. A 30-50 euro neoprene bag protects a 2500 euro wheel from scuffs and rain in transit. Easy math.

Skin covers are different. These attach to the wheel and stay on during riding, typically covering the motor area and exposed fenders. Riders doing off-road or wet-weather commuting benefit most: the skin takes mud and water before it reaches electronics.
