DESCRIPTION
A lighter, sharper Patton, with suspension you set to your own ride.
The Patton S is LeaperKim's 16-inch suspension wheel, refreshed: newer parts from the family, a progressive coil shock with 80 mm of travel, and a few kilos shed along the way. Preload, damping and spring modules are all yours to set, firm for fast pavement or soft for broken ground, and the tire comes in street or knobby tread.
The suspension keeps the ride smooth when the asphalt gives way to dirt, and the 126 V drive pulls firmly up steep streets. Its 2220 Wh pack favors brisk rides over all-day ones; for long days at pace the Lynx S is the bigger step. For fast pavement and gravel from one tunable wheel, it covers both with room to spare.
OIL-DAMPED, NOT JUST SPRUNG
The FastAce shock damps its springs with oil, so after a big hit it settles instead of bouncing back. Over a run of bumps the ride stays quiet and the wheel keeps its line.
A QUICK ANSWER TO A LEAN
With 7000 W of peak power behind a 680 A controller, the wheel responds to a forward lean right away, so pulling out of a slow corner or passing on a path feels easy.
FAST TURNAROUND BETWEEN RIDES
Two charge ports accept up to 10 A each with optional chargers, 20 A in total. The supplied 5 A charger takes about 4.5 hours; with more current, a lunch break restores much of the pack.
A TREAD FOR EVERY SEASON
The 3.0-12 tire size gives a real choice of tread later on: a knobby for the months of dirt and gravel weekends, a street tread for quieter, grippier tarmac when you mostly commute.

QUESTIONS
LeaperKim offers 62, 66 and 70 lb modules. Lighter riders and smooth-road riding start on the softer side; heavier riders and hard off-road riding go firmer. Sellers give different weight thresholds, so treat any chart as a starting point. Set the spring first, then adjust preload and damping a step at a time and ride between changes.
Both are 16-inch suspension wheels, but they ride differently. The S16 Pro is a calm, comfort-first city wheel at 31.8 kg. The Patton S is heavier at 36 kg, but its 126 V system, 68 km/h top speed and tunable oil-damped shock suit riders who want pace on the road and confidence on gravel.
They share the 3.0-12 tire size but split the ground differently. The Extreme is a trail wheel first, with 130 mm of travel and 39 kg to manage. The Patton S has 80 mm of travel and a higher 68 km/h top speed, so it feels quicker on pavement while still handling gravel and dirt paths well.
Dual 18 W headlights with 2000 lm, a brake light and automatic turn signals cover visibility. A top display shows speed, voltage, mode and battery, with more settings in the app. There is no music speaker, only a warning buzzer, and the trolley handle is fixed rather than telescopic, so it takes up more height in a car trunk.
