Leaperkim's latest addition to the world of electric unicycles, the Veteran Lynx, boasts a powerful 20-inch 3200W motor, along with a robust 151V 2700Wh battery setup. Featuring an enhanced Gen 5 double layer board, Smart BMS, and cutting-edge algorithms for superior hall sensor error and motor blocking management, this unicycle stands out as a larger and more advanced iteration of the Leaperkim Veteran Patton model. The inclusion of a magnesium alloy motor rim, new double layer control boards with 36pcs MOSFETs supporting an 840A peak current load, and an adjustable mid-mounted suspension shock system with 90mm travel further elevates its performance capabilities.
Noteworthy features include dual charging ports (supporting max 15A charging), a taillight with braking and turning warning lights, and a Smart BMS that diligently reports the health of individual battery cells. This includes details such as cell voltage variance/drift, monitored by half-a-dozen independent temperature probes strategically placed across various cells and components on the BMS.
In terms of functionality, the Veteran Lynx incorporates a Hall Error fix algorithm to seamlessly address any Hall errors, ensuring the unicycle continues to balance effectively. The Smart Field Weakening feature enhances speed safety margin through a sophisticated software algorithm, while the Motor Anti-blocking rotation system safeguards the motor and controller from damage in the event of motor rotation blockage. These advancements collectively position the Veteran Lynx as an exceptional electric unicycle, delivering top-tier suspension performance.

Frequently asked questions
What is the top speed of the Leaperkim Lynx?
85 km/h free-spin. Real-world safe cruising, with tilt-back margin factored in, is around 65 to 70 km/h. The 151.2 V platform gives enough headroom that the wheel does not cut out at sustained high speed the way lower-voltage wheels do.
What range does the Lynx actually deliver?
Spec range 160 km on the 2700 Wh Samsung 50S pack. Real-world expectation: 100 to 130 km for a 75 kg rider cruising 40 to 50 km/h on flat tarmac. Hammering top speed drops it to 60 to 75 km.
Is the Lynx a beginner wheel?
No. 40 kg of mass, 85 km/h ceiling, hydraulic suspension tuned for high-speed riding. This is an intermediate-to-advanced wheel. If you are coming from a V11 or Sherman, the Lynx feels natural. From nothing, it is dangerous.
How long does it take to charge?
2 to 4 hours depending on the charger. Leaperkim ships it with a fast charger option that brings the 2700 Wh pack up quickly. That is a big quality-of-life difference versus older wheels that need 8+ hours.
What kind of suspension does the Lynx have?
Hydraulic coil suspension with 90 mm of travel and independent compression and rebound damping. You can tune it for trail compliance or stiff high-speed tarmac riding. One of the main reasons riders choose the Lynx over cheaper suspension wheels.
Is the Lynx waterproof?
It has water resistance appropriate for damp roads and splashes, but no official IP rating published by Leaperkim. Do not ride through puddles or in sustained heavy rain. Dry it thoroughly after any wet ride.
What battery cells does it use?
Samsung INR21700-50S. These are high-drain cells rated around 25 A continuous, which is what allows the 8000 W peak motor output without cell sag. That cell choice is why the Lynx holds power at high speed where 40T-based wheels lose punch.

Leaperkim Veteran Lynx Electric Unicycle
I'm very new not just to it but to the whole EUC riding. Never ridden before. For me it feels a massive piece of a machine. With a quite a sweaty effort I could manage to somewhat ride it in 5 hours. I can't compare it to any other wheel just to my scooter but I really enjoying it so far. :D

§ 01 / Philosophy
The platform that started the family. Same DNA as the Lynx S and the Sherman L.
2700 Wh at 151.2 V from Samsung INR21700-50S high-discharge cells. Long enough for full-day riding without the Sherman's weight penalty.
§ weight
40
kg · lightest in family
The lightest Lynx-platform wheel — lighter than both the Lynx S and the Sherman L. The platform's signature feel at the lowest curb weight in the family.
§ range
130
km · upper of 100–130 mixed
100–130 km on mixed riding for a 75 kg rider at 40–50 km/h cruise. Faster cruise pulls this down; slower riding extends it.
The reference build of the Leaperkim platform.
The Lynx defined the Leaperkim premium tier when it launched, and it remains the reference build of the platform. The Lynx S adds motor and load capacity; the Sherman L stretches the battery to 4000 Wh for touring. The standard Lynx sits in the middle: enough peak power for confident acceleration, enough battery for full days on the road, and the platform's signature 90 mm Fastace suspension.
For riders who want the Lynx ride without paying for the S motor, this is the right choice.
2700 Wh of Samsung 50S, a 3200 W / 8000 W motor, a 90 mm Fastace hydraulic fork and a magnesium chassis built around long-distance ride feel. Same DNA as the Lynx S and the Sherman L, in the original calibration that made the platform.
§ 02 / Systems
Four engineering choices that define the Lynx.

§ 06 / Who rides it
The Lynx rewards riders who want the platform's original calibration — not the S upgrade, not the Sherman touring stretch.
A
The Lynx-platform purist
Riders looking for the Lynx ride without the Lynx S motor upgrade or the Sherman L battery upgrade. The original calibration that made the platform.
B
The lightweight rider
Owners who want the Lynx-family suspension and chassis at the lowest curb weight in the family. 40 kg, lighter than both the Lynx S and the Sherman L.
C
The full-day commuter
Pilots whose ride profile is full-day mixed road riding — not pure touring, not peak-power chasing. 100–130 km of mixed range covers most riding days.
D
The long-term owner
Buyers who plan to ride this wheel for years and value the platform's well-known service history. The Lynx is the platform's reference model alongside the Lynx S and Sherman L.
×
Maximum-power riders
Riders who want maximum peak power — the Lynx S adds it. Same chassis, more motor and 150 kg load capacity.
×
100+ km daily riders
Riders who measure rides in 100+ km days — the Sherman L's 4000 Wh is the better fit. Touring-tuned motor, longest range in the family.
×
Off-road moto-tire riders
Riders looking for an off-road moto-tire build — the Patton S is that wheel. The Lynx is calibrated for road riding, not trails.

Compare with
Leaperkim Lynx S — refreshed successor with refined hydraulic tuning.
Q-01Lynx, Lynx S or Sherman L — which one is right for me?
Lynx: balanced, light, full-day commuter on the platform. Lynx S: same chassis, more motor and 150 kg load capacity. Sherman L: 4000 Wh battery, touring-tuned motor, longest range.
All three share the same suspension and chassis DNA.
Q-02What is the realistic range?
100–130 km on mixed riding for a 75 kg rider at 40–50 km/h cruise. Faster cruise pulls this down; slower riding extends it.
Q-03Will it ride in the rain?
No official IP rating from Leaperkim. The build is sealed for road conditions and damp riding; avoid deep water and pressure washing. Same care as every Lynx-family wheel.
Q-04Does the box include the fast charger?
Stock charger is 5 A. To use the wheel's 15 A combined charging capacity, an additional fast charger is required. We can advise on the right combination.
Q-05Is this still in production?
Yes — the Lynx remains the platform's reference model alongside the newer Lynx S and Sherman L variants.
Q-06EU warranty?
Two years through OneRide with home pick-up service.
