Latest iteration of one of the most popular unicycles - Inmotion V8 - now even better- great range of up to 70KM in a new body.
From outside only the logo - Inmotion name chagned a bit, the rest looks the same as was V8F. At the same time the body remained almost unchanged - the dimensions of the V8F are 538 * 462 * 148 mm.
Same great motor, which comes in at 1000 W, and at its peak up to 2000 W. Driving speed remains the same at 35 km / h. The battery was now increased to 726Wh, which, according to the manufacturer's assurances, provides a mileage of up to 70 Km.
Max. Speed (km/h) on public roads: 25;
Max. Speed (km/h) on private territories: 35.
Frequently asked questions
What is the top speed of the Inmotion V8S?
35 km/h. The V8S sits between the V5F entry-level and the high-power V11/V12 range, so the speed ceiling is set for city commuting, not racing. No unlockable secret speed tier here.
How far can you actually ride the V8S on one charge?
The 726 Wh battery delivers around 70 km at spec conditions. Plan for 40 to 55 km in real life: 75 kg rider, mixed flat and mild hills, cruising at 25 to 30 km/h. Push max speed the whole way and you are looking at 30 km.
Is the V8S heavier than the V5F?
Yes, 16 kg versus 13 kg. Still lightweight for a 16-inch wheel. The telescopic handle makes it manageable in elevators, on trains, or pushed through a pedestrian street.
Is the V8S good for beginners or is it too fast?
It works for beginners who want room to grow. Learning happens in slow mode (under 15 km/h), and the 16-inch wheel is more stable at speed than the 14-inch V5F. A first-time rider will be comfortable within 10 hours. Then you have the 35 km/h ceiling to grow into for months.
How long does it take to fully charge?
Around 5 hours with the standard charger. No fast-charge option from Inmotion on this model. Partial top-ups during the workday are the common strategy for commuters.
Can I ride it in the rain?
The V8S has some splash resistance but Inmotion does not publish an IP rating. Treat it like a non-waterproof wheel: light drizzle is fine, puddles and heavy rain are not. Long exposure to water damages the bearings and electronics.

§ 01 / Philosophy
The 16" urban EUC, refined. Same compact V8 platform · the bigger battery owners asked for.
726 Wh at 84 V — bigger than typical urban EUCs in this size class. Real-world 40–55 km on a normal commute, up to 70 km in ideal flat-cruise conditions.
§ motor
2000
W peak · 1000 W nominal
1000 W nominal, 2000 W peak. The peak is the meaningful figure for a non-suspension urban wheel — it determines hill behaviour and acceleration from stops.
§ curb
16
kg · 16" wheel
16 kg curb weight on a 16-inch wheel. Light enough to carry up stairs, big enough to commute, with 120 kg max load and a telescopic handle for trolley use.
The urban-EUC sweet spot for many riders.
The V8S is Inmotion's compact urban EUC: 726 Wh of battery, a 1000 W / 2000 W peak motor, a 16" wheel and a 16 kg curb weight. It is the 2023 refresh of the V8 platform — the bigger battery owners had asked for, with the same compact external dimensions so existing accessories and carry solutions still fit.
Light enough to carry, big enough to commute, with enough peak power to handle hills and stops without protest.
The V8S is positioned for riders who want simplicity over suspension complexity. It is a non-suspension wheel — the tire and rim do all the smoothing — so road choice matters more than on a sprung platform. For daily urban routes under 50 km round-trip, that trade is the point of the wheel.
§ 02 / Systems
Four engineering choices that define the V8S.
Factory data Inmotion V8S · 726 Wh · 84 V
01
726 Wh · 84 V
726 Wh at 84 V. Real-world range is 40–55 km with a typical commute, up to 70 km in ideal flat-cruise conditions. The 2023 platform's bigger pack — the upgrade owners asked for.
02
1000 W / 2000 W peak motor
1000 W nominal, 2000 W peak. On a non-suspension urban wheel the peak is the figure that matters — it determines how the V8S handles hills and acceleration from stops without bogging down.
03
16" wheel · no suspension
16-inch wheel, no suspension. The tire and the rim do all the smoothing, so road choice matters more than on a sprung wheel. Inmotion positions the V8S for riders who want simplicity rather than air-spring or hydraulic complexity.
04
16 kg · 538 × 462 × 148 mm
16 kg curb weight on a compact 538 × 462 × 148 mm chassis. Telescopic handle for trolley use, 120 kg max load. Light enough to carry up stairs, compact enough to live in a small apartment.

Apartment-friendly format
16 kg curb weight on a 538 × 462 × 148 mm chassis. The telescopic handle turns the V8S into a trolley for stations, lifts and short walks — useful when you need both hands free. Compact enough to live next to a coat rack rather than block a hallway.

§ 06 / Who rides it
The V8S is built for daily urban commuters who want a simple, light, real-EUC platform — not a touring battery, not a suspension wheel, not a beginner trainer.
A
The daily urban commuter
Riders with daily routes under 50 km round-trip who want a real urban EUC rather than a beginner-class wheel. 726 Wh covers the round trip; 16 kg makes carrying it up stairs at the end of the ride a non-issue.
B
The rider stepping up from a smaller wheel
Owners moving up from a V5F or another small wheel who are ready to graduate from beginner-class hardware. The V8S is the obvious next step within the Inmotion line — same brand discipline, real urban-EUC capability.
C
The simplicity-over-suspension owner
Buyers who want a wheel without air springs or hydraulic shocks to maintain. The V8S keeps the platform simple — no suspension complexity, no extra service touchpoints — for owners whose routes don't demand them.
×
Riders who want suspension
The V8S is non-suspension by design. If your routes need air-spring or hydraulic damping, the V11Y or V12S adds it — at the cost of the V8S's simplicity, weight and price.
×
Long-distance touring riders
726 Wh and a 40–55 km real range are the urban sweet spot, not a touring spec. For 100+ km days, look at the V12S's 80–120 km range or a 20-inch platform.
×
Off-road and heavier riders
The V8S is street-tuned with a 16" wheel and a 120 kg max load. Off-road riders and heavier riders looking for headroom should move up to the V12S, which lifts both the suspension and the load ceiling.

Q-01V8S or V12S?
V8S: 16 kg, 16", non-suspension, 35 km/h free-spin, 40–55 km real range. V12S: 35 kg, 16"/3.00-12, hydraulic suspension, 70 km/h, 80–120 km.
The V8S is simpler, lighter and cheaper; the V12S adds suspension, higher peak power and connectivity. If your routes are short, urban and well-paved, the V8S is the more honest choice.
Q-02Is the 2023 V8S really different from earlier V8 builds?
Yes — bigger battery and range. Inmotion kept the external dimensions similar so existing accessories and carry solutions still fit, which is unusually friendly for a platform refresh.
Q-03Will it commute in light rain?
Yes — within reason. The V8S is described as light-rain tolerable. Avoid puddles and heavy rain — Inmotion does not publish an official IP rating for the wheel.
Q-04How long does a full charge take?
Around 5 hours from empty with the stock 84 V charger — overnight on the wall, ready for the morning commute.
