Frequently asked questions
Is the Begode C8 the same wheel as the old Nikola?
The C8 is the modern evolution of the Nikola. Same circular shell design that gave the Nikola its look, updated with current electronics, suspension, and battery chemistry. Think of it as Nikola reimagined rather than a direct replacement.
What is the real top speed of the C8?
92 km/h free-spin (unloaded). Real ridable speed lands around 64 km/h with a 75 kg rider. Tilt-back kicks in before that to keep you safe. The 84 V platform is mid-voltage, so the C8 is fast but not in the Master or Lynx tier.
What battery and cells does it use?
1500 Wh pack on 84 V using Samsung INR21700-50S cells. High-drain 5 Ah cells that deliver the current the 2500 W rated motor needs without sag. The 50S designation is why the C8 accelerates harder than older Nikola builds on 40T cells.
Does it have suspension?
Yes, mid-mounted coil and oil hydraulic with 70 mm of travel. Not as long as a Lynx (90 mm) but more than the Inmotion V9 (60 mm). Enough to smooth out curbs, cobbles, and bad asphalt.
How waterproof is the C8?
IP67 rated. That is strong: dust-tight and immersion up to 1 meter for 30 minutes per the standard. In real terms: heavy rain and puddles are fine. Even so, do not park it in a pool and dry the bearings after wet rides.
Does the C8 really have 8 speakers?
Yes, eight integrated 10 W speakers totaling 80 W of audio plus circular RGB ambient lighting. The audio is a marketing highlight, and it actually sounds good at urban speeds. Wind noise still wins above 45 km/h.
Is the C8 beginner-appropriate?
Not as a first wheel. 31 kg, 64 km/h real speed, and suspension tuning put it in intermediate territory. Coming from a V8S or similar, the C8 is a reasonable upgrade. From zero, look at lighter 14 or 16-inch wheels first.

§ 01 / Philosophy
Compact, sealed, suspended. A 16" street wheel built around an IP67 chassis.

Wh · Samsung 21700 · 84 V

§ motor
2500
W · 5500 W peak
Free-spin listed at 92 km/h; manufacturer-stated rider speed is around 64 km/h with a 75 kg rider — fast enough for urban use without being a high-speed wheel.
§ sealing

dust-tight · short submersion
Begode's sealed-chassis target for the C8. Dust-tight and rated for short immersion to about 1 m. Rare in this size class.
The small, sealed, suspension-equipped urban wheel.
The C8 is Begode's compact 16-inch street wheel with a sealed IP67 chassis, mid-mounted hydraulic suspension and an unusually serious 80 W audio system. It is built for urban riders who want suspension and weather resistance in a small, light wheel.
In Begode's range, the C8 is the small, sealed, suspension-equipped urban wheel.
Two battery options ship from the factory — a Samsung 50GB pack for energy density and a Samsung 50S pack for higher discharge — so buyers can pick the cell that matches their riding style. The IP67 rating is the headline number: dust-tight and rated for short submersion, which is rare in this size class.
§ 02 / Systems
Four engineering choices that define the C8.
Factory data Begode C8 · 84 V · 1500 Wh
01
1500 Wh · Samsung 21700
84 V on Samsung INR21700 cells. Buyers choose between 50GB (higher energy density) and 50S (higher discharge) at order. Both cells are reputable — the choice is range vs peak punch.
02
2500 W · 5500 W peak
Nominal 2500 W with 5500 W peak. Free-spin listed at 92 km/h; manufacturer-stated rider speed is roughly 64 km/h with a 75 kg rider.
03
70 mm mid-mounted suspension
Coil/oil hydraulic, 70 mm of travel. Mid-mounted is the right layout for compact wheels — it keeps weight central and the chassis predictable. Real travel rather than a soft elastomer.
04
IP67 sealed chassis
Dust-tight and rated for short submersion to about 1 m. Does not mean the wheel survives swimming, but a puddle, sudden downpour or wet street is not a concern.

Two factory battery options. The 50GB pack favours energy density for daily commuting; the 50S pack favours peak discharge for harder acceleration. Talk to us before ordering if you are unsure — we will help you match the cell to your route.

Dust-tight · short immersion
The IP67 figure is what Begode states for the C8. It is a survival rating, not an invitation — we still do not recommend pressure washing or deep-water riding. But heavy rain, puddles and wet streets are not a concern.

§ 06 / Who rides it
The C8 is built for urban riders who want suspension and weather sealing in a small wheel — not a touring battery, not an off-road tire, not a high-speed performance wheel.
A
The urban daily rider
Commuters who want suspension and weather sealing in a small wheel. The C8's IP67 chassis and 70 mm of travel handle rain, puddles and city ride compliance without bumping up to a 20-inch platform.
B
The non-suspension upgrader
Riders coming up from a KS-14, V8 or V5F who want their next wheel to add real suspension and a sealed chassis without changing wheel-size class.
C
The sealing-conscious owner
Owners who value chassis sealing as a real spec, not a marketing line. IP67 is rare in this segment — the C8 is one of the few compact wheels with a real ingress-protection figure.
×
Long-distance touring riders
1500 Wh is sized for daily city riding, not for cross-country touring. For 100+ km days, look at the 20-inch platform.
×
High-speed performance riders
The C8's manufacturer-stated rider cruise of around 64 km/h is moderate. For high-speed performance, this is not the right wheel.
×
Off-road riders
The 16" tire and street-tuned suspension are not built for trail. If you want off-road, look at a moto-tire platform.

Q-0150GB or 50S — which cell should I choose?
50GB favours range and energy density; 50S favours peak discharge for harder acceleration. Most riders choose 50GB for daily commuting, 50S for hill-heavy routes or higher-aggression riding. Talk to us if you are unsure — we will help you match the cell to your route.
Q-02Is IP67 real?
The figure is what Begode states for the C8. It means dust-tight and rated for short immersion. We still do not recommend pressure washing or deep-water riding — IP67 is a survival rating, not an invitation.
Q-03Why is the audio 80 W?
Begode designed the C8 around an integrated audio system. It is one of the C8's defining features. If you do not want it, you do not have to use it — but it is part of the wheel.
Q-04Where can I buy it in Europe?
OneRide. The C8 is one of the few Begode models that European multi-brand retailers do not carry — we are the EU specialist for it.
