Power pads

Overview

Power pads are the foam and rubber panels that attach to the upper shell of an EUC to give the rider's calves and shins something to press against. Stock wheels ship without them, or with minimal rubber strips at best. Once a rider hits 40-50 km/h regularly, or does any kind of aggressive braking, the lack of calf contact becomes the single biggest source of fatigue and control loss. Power pads fix that.

The dominant brands are NyloNove and Grizzla in Europe, Clark in the US, and a handful of wheel-specific shapers (Rehab, EUC Pads, specific Sherman and V13 shape artists). Pads come as a left and right pair, cut to match the specific shell curve of the wheel. A pad for a Sherman L will not fit a V13 correctly. OneRide stocks the common shapes for Sherman series, Master and X-Way, V13 and V14, KS-S22, and Patton. Less common wheels are sourced on request.

Thickness is the choice riders actually care about. Thin pads (8-12 mm) are for subtle calf contact, typical for commuter style. Medium (15-25 mm) is the all-around sweet spot for touring and mixed riding. Thick (30 mm+) is for aggressive riders who want maximum leverage for fast braking, tricks, or tight handling. Thicker pads make mounting and dismounting trickier because the wheel becomes wider at the knee zone.
